Hazardous building materials assessment.

Project challenges

The site was large, with 35 separate buildings to be assessed. The hospital had been refurbished and expanded over many decades, with the original building constructed in the early 1900s. Different construction materials had been used over the years. Access to certain areas was only allowed at specific times of the day and on specific dates.

Our solutions

JKE liaised constantly with the hospital maintenance manager and staff to organise access to sensitive parts of the hospital and plan our site works schedule accordingly. The assessment was conducted over several days and a work schedule was devised for each day on site. This ensured the sampling for each building was finalised before moving onto the next. It also meant the work was completed on schedule within the desired timeframe.
