CONSTRUCTION
Jeffery and Katauskas supports clients through the construction phase of projects. Many of the assumptions made at design stage have to be verified during construction by suitably experienced professionals – ground conditions may vary significantly from the necessarily simplified ‘models’ used in design and many of the potentially critical issues, such as the presence of joints and faults which can give rise to instability, can rarely be identified at investigation stage.
In many cases planning approval is conditional upon appropriate geotechnical input during construction. Occupancy certificates and the like will not be issued unless the developer can demonstrate the required geotechnical inspections and approvals during the construction stage – something which cannot easily be remedied retrospectively. If in doubt – check it out would be a wise catch cry!
Typical construction services include:
- Footing/foundation inspections
- Pile/pier inspections
- Subgrade/fill inspections
- Shoring construction inspections including ground anchors
- Groundwater inflow assessments
- Vibration monitoring
